Pt II: Child Says Good-Bye to Mommy, in her own words

This is a picture of the good-bye letter and picture my Daughter drew for me.

She was forcibly taken from my home by Family Court in Sept. 2008 and placed into the care of her father, who had two abuse and neglect investigations against him in a 3 month time frame when he was awarded custody. Concerns with abuse and endangerment continue to this day.

Picture One Says: Love U Mom 🙂 Mom Love Mom Love U

Underneath are two figures, the larger is Mommy and the smaller is Child 2. Both are frowning. The smaller figure has tears coming out of her eyes. She rainbow and smiley face is how Child 2 feels in my home. She draws two figures of a screaming face. And another frowning face with the word “Mom” below it.

Picture 2 is how my daughter feels, a large screaming face

This is how my daughter feels after forcibly being removed from the only home she has ever known, and away from her loving Mommy, by Family Court. My Daughter experiences grief, loss and trauma to this day.

Thank you to my friends and family who have stuck by me through this very difficult time. I hope that by sharing these articles and pictures, I can raise awareness of family court failures so that others will be motivated to help change the system for the better.

About Emily Court

It takes "Just Us" To Fight Injustice in Family Court. I blog to raise awareness about problems existing in the family court system, and use my own story as a personal example of how the systemic failures in family court, and the Guardian ad Litem Program, affect families, in an effort to encourage needed reform. Written by a survivor of domestic violence and homelessness working to create a better life for her children, in a stable home free of violence. In her efforts to rebuild her life, she has not only encountered harassment and intimidation from her alleged abuser but faced systematic failures in family court that have empowered her alleged abuser and put her children at risk. She is now fighting to keep her kids safe, and bring them home. Through writing and blogging, FCI is working to raise awareness about domestic violence, and the urgent need for family court reform. She is currently working on a memoir titled "'Til Prayers Are Answered".
